Chiara Baitelli from Rudiano, Jessica Onger and Martina Mezzasalma from Castelcovati, Giovanni Calvetti from Chiari are counting days before their departure and they are packing their luggage enthusiastically for the Youth Exchange which will take place in Zakopane, Poland from 17 till 26 November.

On Thursday, November 12, at the office of the Eurodesk Agency of Chiari in Via San Sebastiano, 1, the group of participants met to conclude the final details with the help of the project manager Justina Krauledaitė. There are eight young Italians who participate in the Youth Exchange in Poland with two guys of Naples, one of Bologna and one of Sirmione who complete the Italian team.

“The project – says the project manager Justina Krauledaitė – expects the participating of youngsters from Lithuania, Romania, Poland and Turkey, in total, forty participants. Our projects are for young people from 18 to 25 years old and provide the full coverage of costs of meals and accommodation and the reimbursement of 80% of the travel costs. The project in Zakopane is titled “Do it MIME way!” and will promote non-verbal communication through a mime course and a laboratory of improvised dance to improve the emotional and social attitudes of young people. At the end of the project participants will perform in front of local public.”

incontro ZakopaneAll four participants from Chiari and surroundings have basic level of English but in case of a group leader Jessica Onger, recently graduated in Modern Languages at University of Bergamo, this project becomes a test to check her skills acquired during the study at University. The guys look forward to departure and all of them has good personal motivation. “I have already participated in tours abroad organized by my school – says Chiara Baitelli – But now we are the protagonists of this experience. There is a bit ‘of hesitation but also a great desire to get involved”. Families of the youngsters support with interest the opportunity to access a European platform through Youmore Morcelli Giovani. “Our youth exchange program – adds Jessica Onger – provides drama workshops and dance workshop but also the visit of Zakopane, Poland’s southern city that deserves the title of “winter capital” as a famous ski resort of international importance of the Tatras”. “We have responsibility to act as icebreakers for the first of intercultural evenings dedicated to each country  – says Martina Mezzasalma – As Italians, it’s up to us first to show the role of customs and traditions of our land of origin and to present Youmore Morcelli Giovani to our European partners “.

“We start with the desire to meet new people and broaden our cultural horizons from Chiari to Europe – said John Calvetti – We are ready to make new contacts through the dance and mime workshops.
